  1. The Suffering Servant 49-53
    1. This section of the Isaiah scroll is all about the suffering servant. This servant is one who does the will of God, completes the mission he was given and suffers for the people. This all points to a future Messiah who will come and reign over God’s people. He obeys God, despite Israel’s failure to do so. This Messiah-king will give Israel a choice to follow God or face the consequences.
