- A series of six woes follows the judgments given above. Woes to Ephraim, Jerusalem, the nations, those who rely on Egypt, those who rely on other nations, and Assyria. But this section ends with blessings and joy for those who follow and hope in Yahweh. Woes and judgment come upon those whose hearts are far away from God, even if they act like they are close to Him. True blessings come to those who have waited and hoped for the salvation of Yahweh.
