- This section produces a spiraling effect of sin and evil much like that of Genesis 1-11. Babylon invades and takes over Jerusalem and it falls. The people are taken into exile and some are taken into Egypt. After this spirals murder, idol worship, and judgment against them. This part of the scroll is the climax because God’s promise of judgment upon his people has come true. However, one must remember his other promise of a remnant and restoration that will take place in 70 years.
