Chapter 4
4:1-10 This is a poetic description of the conditions of Jerusalem because of the siege. The people and the city were a light to the nations, they shone like precious stones but now they are unrecognizable.
4:11-20 This is about the taking of the city and it’s fate. The cause of this desolation is God’s wrath describes in verse 11 and God’s wrath came because of the sins of the people in verse 13. The Lord’s anointed could be referring to King Zedekiah.
4:21-22 This is a contrast between Edom and Zion (Jerusalem). Edom will be punished but Zion will recover and their suffering will come to an end.
