In the world today, there is a lot of negative and heart-wrenching news. Turn on the TV, listen to the radio, scroll through social media, and bad news is everywhere. It seems as though this world is attracted to all the gossip and news about people that bring others down. There is very little good news in the world today and what good news is out there often gets shoved out of the way quickly by other news. Today, I want to share with you some good news, news that will change your life.

The good news I want to share is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel message is often portrayed as some judgmental, religious, and exclusional message only for those “good religious people” that go to church. Well, I can say with certainty that the gospel message is for everyone. Everyone. No exceptions. This is why it is such good news. The gospel is not just for one type of religious group or a certain ethnic group. It is for all people, everywhere. So what is this good news and why is it important? How can news really change your life? Let’s find out.

Here’s the simple message of the gospel of Jesus Christ:

– We have all sinned or (done wrong in the eyes of God). Romans 3:23-24

This includes everyone. We all have done countless things wrong in the eyes of God and because of that we are separated from Him as a people.

– Because of our sin, we are in a situation that will end in eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). BUT, there is hope.

– God sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross on our behalf so that we could have forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 1:7). Because of this forgiveness that came through Jesus’ death, we can be brought back to God.

–  Not only did Jesus die, but he rose again 3 days later. Because of this resurrection, we can now have eternal life instead of eternal separation from God (1 Corinthians 15:20). We can be with God forever because of what Jesus did for us.

This is the best news you will ever hear. It is the most positive and uplifting news you will ever hear and that’s because it comes from God. Now in terms of “receiving” salvation, there is no special ritual you have to conduct, no cultish tradition to perform. All you need to do is believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He came and died for your sins, and He resurrected to give you eternal life. Believing in Jesus and in His power to forgive and heal you is everything (Romans 10:9, John 3:16). Acknowledging the fact that we can’t do it alone and confessing that we have done wrong, but realizing that believing in Jesus and accepting Him as the savior is the only way to reaching true life and happiness. However, belief is just the first step in your journey of faith. Because of this confession and accepting of Jesus, you can be baptized to symbolize the death of the old way of living in sin and when you come out of the water you are a new being in Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit and ready to take on the real enemy, Satan, in your life. It is truly good news, and it is the best news you will ever hear, the precious message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
