- There is a gradual process for bringing someone back to repentance.
- 1 Corinthians 6:1-8
- They were taking each other to court instead of privately settling within the church
- This created a bad example
- Matthew 5:39-40 They don’t have this mindset
Marriage
- Paul quotes Mt 5:32 and agrees with Jesus’ teaching.
- Married couples should stay married
- If divorce- remain single or be remarried to same husband
- Unbelieving marriages
- should stay together
- If unbeliever leaves, the believer is free
- Peace is the goal but the divine ideal is priority.
- Married couples should stay married
Lord’s Supper
- Matthew 26:18-30
- Jesus taught to take the bread and cup in remembrance of him.
- 1 cor 11:23-34
- We proclaim Jesus’ death
- Unworthy manner- doesn’t recognize Jesus meaning we forget why we’re doing it.
- We should examine or look at our hearts and intentions
- Judgment can follow
